We are a team of advocates dedicated to empowering Ramsey students through innovation, opportunity, and community support. Together with our schools, families, and local partners, we help create enriching educational experiences that inspire lifelong learning.

The Ramsey Public Education Foundation thrives thanks to volunteers who raise funds to benefit all five Ramsey, NJ public schools. Our goal is to enhance the quality of our children’s education by funding enrichment programs and innovative technologies that might otherwise remain beyond the scope of the school budget. Our goal is to enhance the quality of our children’s education by funding enrichment programs and innovative technologies that might otherwise remain beyond the realm of school budgets. We raise funds through various events held throughout the year.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make sure all young people and children get all the support they need, when they need it, no matter what it is.

To encourage, solicit, seek, and accept contributions of services and/or money and property, real and personal, tangible and intangible, restricted, designated or unrestricted, and to maintain, use and apply the whole or any part thereof (income and principle) to or for the benefit of public school children in the Borough of Ramsey and for the benefit of the Ramsey Public Schools.

To seek, and to assist others to seek grants, endowments and other contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations and local state and federal governments, their agencies or commissions.

To use appropriate means consistent with the reputation and policies of the schools to achieve the purposes of the Foundation.

To enter into contracts with other persons and corporations under which the Foundation would carry out any and all of the above activities for the Foundation.

What is the Ramsey Public Education Foundation?

The Ramsey Public Education Foundation is a private 501(c)3, non-profit foundation run by elected volunteers from Ramsey and Saddle River.

What is our purpose?

Our purpose is to fund enrichment programs, projects, technology, and materials for the five Ramsey public schools. We achieve this goal by planning and executing fundraising events throughout the year.

Aren’t my taxes paying for public school programs?

The State of New Jersey legislation mandates certain programs that must be paid for out of local budgets. These mandates have the effect of limiting the “enriching” programs that provide additional benefits for our children. Our purpose is to help provide some of those important extras.

How can I make a donation to the Foundation?

Click our “Donate” button. To donate via PayPal, simply follow the instructions on the page. You may choose a suggested donation amount or choose your own amount by using the topmost “Donate” button. You may also print out our Fall Mailing Letter, and return the bottom portion with your check.

What happens after the Foundation receives my donation?

The Foundation Grant committee receives requests from school administrators and teachers. These requests are then presented to the trustees for approval. The programs that are funded must enhance the students’ educational experience and should reach as many students as reasonably possible. The foundation grants gifts to each of the Ramsey schools each year, although the amount given to each school does not have to be equal. The Foundation may also fund district-wide programs requested by the Superintendent of Schools and the Office of Special Services, and Innovative Educator projects proposed by individual teachers.

Who are the trustees?

Approximately twenty trustees, from Ramsey and Saddle River, manage the Foundation on a volunteer basis. Each trustee serves a three-year term, to allow for new ideas to help the foundation evolve. In addition, members of the community may donate their time to serve on various committees throughout the year.
